LED Blinker Notifications is an app that allows you to easily keep track of missed calls, SMS, and Gmail messages. If your device doesn't have a hardware LED, the screen will be used instead.
Note that the lite version of the app only supports certain applications, while the full version supports all apps. The ads can be removed, but this won't unlock the full version.
This app, created with a material design, is user-friendly and requires minimal configuration. It's compatible with the latest Android versions from Kitkat to Android 13.
Key features of LED Blinker Notifications include individual settings for each app, such as blink rate, vibration, sounds, and flash repetition. It also offers edge lighting with various options and provides an overview of the last notifications and messages, including deleted messages from your contacts (available through in-app purchase).
The app includes a silent mode for everyday use and a widget that allows you to deactivate LED Blinker or remove notifications quickly. It even works with phones that don't have a real LED by utilizing the screen LED feature.
LED Blinker Notifications supports various apps including missed calls and SMS, battery status, Google Mail, Google Talk/Hangouts, calendar reminders, standard email apps, Bluetooth messages, and alternative on-screen LED.
The full version of LED Blinker Notifications offers additional advantages such as contact-specific colors for apps like WhatsApp, missed calls, Telegram, and Signal. It also provides light and dark color schemes, export/import settings functionality (so you don't lose your settings when installing new ROMS/mods), the ability to enable the camera flashlight for new notifications (beta feature), smart notifications with message text filtering options, and the option to use app symbols or custom pictures for on-screen LEDs. Additionally, all apps are supported in the full version including Facebook Messages, WhatsApp, Skype messages, Twitter, and Threema (now with group support).
The AndroidHeadLines website describes LED Blinker as an Android app that makes it easier to understand different types of notifications. Unlike other apps in its category, LED Blinker doesn't require root access and is highly efficient in terms of battery consumption.
LED Blinker requires specific permissions to function properly, as lesser permissions aren't possible. The app doesn't collect or share any user data; all processing is done locally on the device.
The accessibility services API is used by the app for its functionality only. Additionally, LED Blinker can start an accessibility service to display notifications on the always-on display, enhancing the user experience for hearing-impaired or visually impaired individuals through visual LEDs on the screen, vibration patterns, and notification sounds.
If you'd like to try out LED Blinker Notifications, I recommend starting with the lite version to check if your device's hardware LED is compatible (the on-screen LED works in all cases).
